Reasons Why We Love You Can

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

I found this super cute can while unpacking boxes today. My BFF Tiffany made it for me for my birthday 5 years ago. She and the group of boys (now men) we hang out with wrote on slips of paper the things they love and are thankful for about me. It is one of those gifts you keep forever and makes you smile each time you come across it. My husband was one of those boys who wrote nice things before we were married. Those ones are the best. :)

I am back in craft mode. My brain has been going nonstop thinking of new projects I want to work on. I couldn’t even sleep last night I had so many projects on the brain. I found my crochet hooks and rotary cutter today (still missing are my acrylic blocks). I started on the table runner this afternoon. Now if I can just focus on one or two projects at a time…

Denim Quilt Top

Monday, December 29th, 2008

It’s only the top so far. I hope to have it complete for summer picnics. My husband helped me cut out the blocks. Thanks Josh! I promise my next sewn project is more complex.

We have color on our walls!! I have been looking forward to this day for such a long time. :)

Birthday “Potty”

Monday, December 29th, 2008

I own this stamp because it happened to be listed on e-bay with another stamp I really wanted. I thought it was a pretty lame stamp until I thought of all the goofy men in my family. If they are going to receive a handmade card it might as well be silly, right?

I have a load of new stamps to put to work but can’t find my acrylic blocks in all these boxes. I’ve been searching for them for days! I hope to find them soon. Nothing is more exciting than new stamps!

Gingerbread House

Friday, December 26th, 2008

Here are a few pics of my gingerbread house this year complete with Mike & Ike stairs and Pull n’ Peel wreath. I should have taken some pics of my sisters houses. I try to make mine look like an ordinary gingerbread house and they do crazy things like gummy bears jumping into the house through the sunroof landing on the orphan’s. Click HERE for the recipe.

Elephant Paper Piecing

Another elephant, this time without the fat rolls. I think I like fat rolls.
