High Hopes Birthday Lion Card

Once again I broke out Leo the Lion for this weeks High Hopes challenge. I just find Leo to be extra fabulous. The challenge is called “seeing stars”. I believe in the “go big or go home” rule so I went big, real big. I used Cricut cartridge George and Basic Shapes to cut out the stars. I used my watercolor pencils to color Leo.

I’ll be back soon with another lion card using a fantastic Squigglefly new release image. I have to get my work done and my house clean before then so I better get to it! Thanks for stopping by!

Flowers for You Card

I made this simple card using a Penny Johnson Stampavie image called Bear Flowers. I used my watercolor pencils, a bit of ribbon, and a few stickles. It’s a small A2 size card that refused to photograph well, sorry.

I followed this weeks sketch at Midnight Madness and Stampavie’s challenge is Spring.

Also, I have a confession to make. I’m on project #25 of the “use my stash” challenge (one project I didn’t photograph or post) and this week I purchased a few things. I ran across a listing on e-bay for 100 unmounted High Hopes sentiment (one of my top two favorite rubber stamp companies). How could I pass that up?? I won them for $16.50! I think they should be in the mailbox today. I can’t wait!! And then yesterday I was on the hunt for pink polka dots for a few Minnie Invitation orders. It took me five craft stores to finally find one that worked. Have you ever gone into five scrapbook stores after depriving yourself of any crafting goodness for months? Hauling two children? I was exhausted! I’m proud to say I only faltered some patterned paper and a few ink pads worth. My patterned paper and card stock stashes are getting dangerously low. Anyway, I’m back on the wagon and will finish my next 25 projects from my stash (quickly, I hope).

Whipper Snapper The Nurse is in Card

I love this cute little Whipper Snapper stamp of a little girl named Nurse Morgan. I colored her to match the fab green paper from American Crafts and the pink polka-dots from Bo Bunny. I used my Cricut to cut out the circles and embossed the front circle with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. The lace border punch is from Martha.

Challenges:

I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday. Both The Pink Elephant and Cute Card Thursdays challenges are to add green (my second entry for both). Stamp Something challenge is “something girly” and Simon Says is also “girly”. Last but not least Creative Inspirations challenge is to add lace, pins, and pearls.

I am dead tired. I’m also stubborn. I refuse to go to bed until I finished my High Hopes Challenge card that I started two days ago. I can’t decide if I’m just stupid for doing so (I cut my finger and wasted a great deal of glue dots before I remembered Mike’s layers are supposed to be 3D) or grateful (it turned out fab, right). Any excuse to use my High Hopes stamps and I’m in.I’m a sucker for them.

The challenge is to use brown and orange plus a circle. I received Mike (the monkey) in my Christmas stocking and just hadn’t inked him up yet. The bananas and sentiment are from C.C. Designs. At the time I didn’t know of a source that sold High Hopes stamps or I wouldn’t have bought this banana bunch. I still might…

You can’t tell from the picture that well- the orange is velum and I put the same patterned paper behind it. I also made Mike extra 3-Dimensional. The circles are cut out with my Cricut and embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. Hope you love him as much as I do!
