Ok, let’s be honest. I missed the memo on this weeks 7 Kids challenge. I though it was just a 3X3 card however, it’s a 3X3 card with a Valentine’s theme. So, I could do my usual freak out and rush around staying up way to late to create another card or just go with what I made. I decided to go with what I made and pay better attention next challenge.

My card is featuring Fishing Bear from Stampavie. He was colored with Copics and you can find envelopes here for this size card.

It’s been a very un-awesome day. That’s all. Just wanted to tell you. Super uncool day. It has been stated and now we can move on. I did make a batch of sorry-I’m-an-idiot brownies (a.k.a. Andes Mint Brownies) that are delicious. So if you are having a bad day maybe try them out. You never know, they might help.

I kind of dig today’s card. I haven’t used vibrant colors like these in awhile. There is one aspect of my card I don’t dig but then I think of a comment a bloggy friend left telling me never to apologize for my art. She’s a very smart lady so I’m sticking with that outlook.

One of these days I’m going to try one of those crazy fancy cards with the big fancy flowers clusters and bazillion embellishments…but for now the sweet and simple is working for me. I saw a white card yesterday that I totally dig too. Maybe changing up and trying new things will help me get my mojo back. I have some style exploring to do… Any favorites I should give a go?

Thanks a Bunch

Look at me trying to get my mojo back. One thing I noticed while making this card is that if you don’t color on a regular basis your skill level falters. So sad. I had one sweet reader (my TD blog hop winner) suggest a goal of three cards a week to boost up the ol’ mojo so that is just what I’m going to do. I also decided to start using my favorite papers (that I hoard and never touch) and going through my stash of stamps and seeing which call to me. This is the one that called to me on Monday.

So card number one for this week. It’s my 7 Kids College Fund DT card. The challenge is to make a pink card with flowers. I absolutely adore the My Mind’s Eye flag banner paper. So cute. The roses have a dab of stickles in the middle as well but that didn’t photograph so hot.

Back to School Bus Ride

Back to school, back to school… What is that song from? Billy Madison?? Anyway, here is my DT card for More Paper Than Shoes Forum. I don’t have any stamps (that I could think of) that have to do with apples or school so I decided using my Cricut would be the fastest. Wrong-o! This card took me hours. I was up until one a.m. and I started as soon as my kids went to bed. Ha!I used an entire 12X12 to get the yellow on the front of the bus to work and it still doesn’t match up perfectly. I’ve got a Design Studio handicap I guess. However, I do love it so…so it’s forgiven for giving me grief.

The animals are from Create-a-Critter and the bus is from my mother’s Doodlecharms cartridge. I must get my own. So many cute cuts. The wheels I cut out using George so that I could pop them out with a few pop up dots. The pencil paper inside is from Cosmo Crickets The Boyfriend mini deck.

In other news, I was featured on etsy again a few days ago for my peas in a pod cards. So nice.

Popcorn Anyone?

I have a couple of cards to post I made for my dearest mother. Both thank you cards, here’s the first. I used my new Popcorn the Bear stamp my sweeter than sweet bloggy friend Christy sent to me. Thanks Christy!

I was pleased to see my ice cream bear card made last weeks Stamp Something top five. Woohoo! Thanks ladies!! It was a great way to start off the day.

In 7 Kids College Fund news- there are these new S.W.A.L.K. stamps in the store which are cheap and adorable. That’s my kinda stamp! You can check out what else is new here. I received my latest order a couple of days ago and inked the stamps up and started playing today. It’s like Christmas in this ol’ messy craft room. I’m in heaven…as long as my 10 month old is asleep and not reeking havoc on my new goodies. He just learned how to open the kitchen cabinets today too. Joy.

I’ll be back tomorrow to post my second thank you card. I’ve been running nonstop all week and now I can’t seem to keep my eyes open. To bed for me. Thanks for stopping by!
