Looks like I’ve one more month of the 7 Kids College Fund DT. I believe there will be a call in the next few weeks If you’re interested in serving on such a fabulous team.

For today’s challenge you are to use red, white, and blue. I was daring and used my new Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits for the first time. Hopefully I improve but for my first go I think Lenny turned out pretty decent. It’s always fun to watch yourself grow and improve and to try something different.

Cinder Square

Hi Ladies and Gents! We’re calling all squares for the new 7 Kids challenge today. All you have to do is make a square card and use an image carried by 7 Kids College Fund to enter. I used my newest C.C. Designs stamp, Cinder. I think he is adorable! I seem to have a thing for dragons lately.

This is my first attempt coloring on kraft colored cardstock. I like that it makes my reds not as crazy bright. I was pretty impressed that the ink didn’t bleed too! Red’s seem to always want to bleed on me.

I just got a whole slew of new stamps from being one of the winners of the High Hopes blog hop and my latest 7 Kids order gracing my mailbox so I’ll be back soon!! Nothing better than the first inking on a new stamp!

Tag Card

Time for a new challenge at 7 Kids! The challenge for the next two weeks is to use a new technique. I made a tag card using these instructions from Sugar Sugar. You would think it would be simple- but oh no. I wasted multiple sheets of cardstock and was completely frustrated by the time I finished. Now I know why I stick to fool proof square cards. I hang my head in shame for being handicap in the ways of fancy card folding.

One Giving Dragon

Hi all! Thanks for stopping by. I used Gavin the Givin’ Dragon for my manly card today. All patterned paper is from Basic Grey’s Olive 6X6 paper pad including the paper pieced gifts. I love what a little paper piecing can do for your image. I thread some ribbon to add some texture and used Fiskars Apron and Lace border punch behind my image which I colored with Copics.

This week High Hopes is celebrating it’s challenge blog’s birthday. To celebrate there will be three winners this week. The first wins ten stamps of their choice and the second and third winners, five of their choice. How could I resist taking a shot at winning my favorite stamps?!? The challenge is the sketch above. Hope you like it and wish me luck!

My family has been sick but is finally coming around. I’ll be back tomorrow with a Halloween Cricut card. I hate being away so long. I’ve missed you!

BTW, I change up my format from time to time when my card is going to be featured on 7 Kids Blog. I always wonder if it throws you off when I do so. Hope it makes more sense now. I added the supplies list on the bottom (even though it is stated above) which is the regular format.

Little Dragon- Practical Scrappers Stickers Challenge

Here we go with my first post for Practical Scrappers. This weeks challenge is STICKERS. Stickers!? I don’t use stickers! It truly was a challenge. I thought about it long and hard and finally settled on a border sticker (then black checkered strip) on the front. I love the green paper. It goes well with a sickness (thanks Marianne!).
