Happy Valentine’s Day! In the normal Lisa fashion I waited until the last minute and then decided to whip up a few batches of cookies and these cute little gift tags. It is also my BIL Austin’s Birthday. I sadly made him the worst cake ever as well- note to self: making the cake layers the night before is a bad idea. Not sealing them up air tight also a bad idea. You will get comments like, “I plead the 5th” when asked how it tastes and “It’s like a toast cake.” LOL, at least my cookies are good and my in laws now have a “remember when” story about me to tell for years to come.

The monkey stamp is a digi from Bugaboo (I added the 30 on the cake), the Cupid Bear is from Whipper Snapper, the elephant is a Dustin Pike digi image, and the squirrel is a Greeting Farm image. I used a lot of cuttlebug, my cricut, did some sewing, and inked lots of edges. That’s about it. I’ll be back tomorrow with my Squigglefly DT card.

Project #8

I know, I come up with the best titles. I don’t know how anyone could resist after seeing such an awesome title. :)

My little family and I have a lot of people to thank these days. Between watching our kids, working on our house, and letting us stay at their house while it get fixed- I have some thank you catch up work to do. I started on this card last night while my husband did side job work and I waited for the dryer. I then had a hard time going to bed because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I turned out almost as well as I imagined it…almost.

I used Elmer the Elephant. He’s one of my favorite High Hopes Stamps. Very versatile. The stripe paper is from Daisy D’s and the green circle paper is from Scenic Route. I used my fancy new (I bought it before starting my project challenge) Fiskars Effervescence border punch (love it), my Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder, and my mom’s Mickey Font Cartridge (shhh, I’ve had it for months). Thanks mom!

I’m entering this card into the following challenges-

High Hopes- spacey colors (purple, blue, green)

Stamp with Fun- sketch

AIFactory Challenge- 5 embellishments total (I used 5 on the front, no one else shows the inside of their cards so I think that’s what they mean…I hope)

And my own personal challenge- don’t use any white

Yesterday was my little sisters birthday. I did my best to make her a card with the limited supplies I have at the moment. She likes purple and elephants so I went with those. The image is a free digi I found. I am not on my own computer so I don’t have the info on where to find it. :( I’m so sorry. I hope she likes it.

I won top three on a contest this week at Practical Srcappers. It was my button Christmas ornament card that I entered. I’m happy to know someone else enjoyed it’s fabulousness. :)

Paper Pieced Animals

Sorry about my lack of posts. I’ve been working on making some extra Christmas money and my paper pieced animals do the best. I thought I’d post a few pictures of the animals I’ve being making so you don’t think I’ve been slacking. The patterns are from myscrapchick. I have been working on some of my own patterns but won’t be showing them off until I get the whole set done. I think they are pretty darn cute if I may say so myself. …I just realized I forgot to add the owl I just finished. Blast. You can find these animals here and here to purchase.

I’ve been putting this layout off for awhile now. I didn’t want to overdo it but I didn’t want to underdo it either. I hope it turned out alright. It’s for some dear friends of mine. You can find the paper piecing zoo animal patterns here. I am getting rusty on scrapbook layouts. I need to start doing them more often. I’m getting burnt out of the paper piecing. I need to take a break for a while. I always go through stages so I’ll come back around soon I’m sure.

The patterned cardstock is from Imaginisce and the patterned paper is a Karen Foster Design. The orange striped photo-mat is from the fabulous DCWV Animal Crackers Matstack. My SIL was just showing me her All About Boys stack. I must have it! Cute boy paper is not easy to find! The matstacks are a great stocking stuffer (hint, hint to my husband).
